National Obstetric Fistula Centre Babbar-Ruga, Katsina is the first and oldest Fistula Centre in Nigeria, established by the missionaries and handed over to Katsina State Government as General Hospital Babbar-Ruga, Katsina. On 13th December, 2023, a memorandum was signed between Katsina State Government and Federal Government through Federal Ministry of Health ceding the Hospital to Federal Government as the second National Fistula Centre in the Country. The Centre was mandated to provide free Fistula Care to Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) Patients from North-Western states of Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Zamfara and Sokoto States. It also receives sizeable number of patients from other zones as well as neighbouring Niger Republic. Vesico Vaginal Fistula is an abnormal communication between the vagina of a woman and the urinary system thereby leading to the woman having continuous flow of urine from the vagina. Majority of the women with this condition are ostracised by their families, divorced by their husbands and stigmatized by the community. Since its inception in 2023, the Centre has undergone various forms of reforms and developments, such as infrastructural development and human capital development. Old and dilapidated structures inherited from the general Hospital Babbar-Ruga were renovated and upgraded, new structures constructed and equipped with the state of the art hospital equipment. The Center so far had two (2) Medical Directors, the pioneer Medical Director in person of Dr Aliyu Muhammad El-Ladan and the current Medical Director in person of Dr Sadiya Nasir.

She obtained MBBS degree at Bayero University Kano. Did Housemanship at General Hospital Katsina and NYSC at FMC Katsina.Had her residency training at FMC Katsina and became a fellow of West African College of Surgeons.
born in Mani on 14/01/1979, attended Mani Central model primary school from 1984-1990, then proceed to Government secondary school Mani from 1991-1996, I joined Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto from 2001-2008 were I obtained MBBS. I joined Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching hospital, Sokoto in 2015 and obtained FWACS and FMCOG in 2023.
He hails from Plateau State specifically B/ladi LGA. He was born General hospital Funakaye LGA in Gombe state where he had his primary level of education at the workers village primary school Ashaka cem and then proceeded to united faith tabernacle college jarawan kogi in Jos East for secondary education and progressed to the University of Jos where he got his first degree..MBBS , he had his mandatory one year internship at FMC Gombe and one year of NYSC at Gen hospital Ringim Jigawa state, he had his residency training at Jos University teaching hospital (JUTH) and was awarded the fellowship of West African college of surgeons FWACS. WORK EXPERIENCE had worked with 1.Taraba state specialist hospital.2. Consultant at General hospital Katsina 3. Consultant at NOFIC till date.
